My research interests are in ion particle acceleration and transport. I use data and models to examine how particles that are accelerated at the sun and at shocks (or in other compressive events) move throughout interplanetary space. I'm interested in tracing their origins and understanding the exact mechanisms of how that acceleration happens, and how we can trace that using heavy ion species. I am also interested in energetic particle entrance and its trapping in terrestrial and gas giant magnetospheres. I also am interested in developing next-generation particle instruments that can be miniaturized for use on SmallSats while still providing high mass and energy resolution.
I also have a lot of interest in making space physics more available, both as a scientific discipline to the public and through work that makes the field more inclusive.
Please contact me for further information about my research or interest in collaboration.
